The NYS Department of Labor has computed the NYSAWW for calendar year 2021 to be $1,688.19.  This will result in a new Maximum Compensation Benefit rate of $1,125.46, effective for accidents as of 7/1/2022.  The current maximum comp rate is $1,063.05.  This will result in an increase to the weekly rate of $62.41.

Important Dates

February 1: Employers must complete and display their OSHA 300A forms. The forms must be on display until April 30.

March 2: Employers subject to the electronic reporting requirement must submit their electronic reports using the ITA.

On Thursday, Sept. 9, 2021, President Joe Biden signed executive orders requiring federal workers and contractors to get vaccinated against COVID-19. Biden also directed the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) to draft a new emergency rule requiring all businesses with 100 or more employees to ensure all of their workers are either tested for COVID-19 once a week or fully vaccinated.
