Staying Connected While Working from Home

Although it’s tough, staying connected with your co-workers while you’re working from home can help you boost your social well-being. Here are some ways to stay connected while working from home:

  • Communicate via video calls to keep meetings engaging and productive.
  • Participate in team activities. You can even start virtual wellness challenges! Let's see which department can log more steps for the week, accounting or sales.
  • Host virtual happy hours, lunches, or 10 am coffee breaks.
  • Company contests and challenges. Set up work-related team challenges to keep people working together and engaged, or have everyone send in their pictures and vote virtually for the annual ugly sweater contest.
  • Morning yoga. You might be surprised how many people would wake up early for a virtual yoga class!

Don't forget, communication is key.

  • Use a variety of communication platforms: email, chat, meetings, texts, etc.
  • Create shared calendars.
  • Be available and respond diligently.
  • Keep your online status up to date so people know when they can "stop by" and talk.
