Julius W. Aebly, Jr.

President, Aebly & Associates Insurance Services, Inc. and Lytle Investment Services Corp.

Julius started in the insurance business in 1990 where he began as the Director of Marketing then became VP of Sales for USA Risk Group – one of the world’s largest independent captive manager and alternative market service providers of the time. USA Risk Group was involved with the creation and management of single parent captives for large Fortune 1000 companies: group captives for trade/industry/association clients, on and offshore captives, self-insured workers’ compensation, health insurance and other self-funded programs utilizing various types of risk sharing arrangements such as Risk Retention Groups, Fronted programs, pure and partial self-insurance, and other vehicles. A representative sample of their client list for these projects was GE, University of Pittsburgh, Ernst & Young, M&R, American Hospital Association, Equitable, ASAE (American Society of Association Executives), AAO (American Association of Orthodontists), Transamerica, Equitable, Dayton Power and Light and many others.

Julius has authored several articles in insurance and risk management publications including The Insurance Journal, Insurance Times, Sarasota Herald Tribune, Florida Insurance News, Florida Underwriter, Merritt Insurance Pro, Business First and Insurance Advocate.

Current licenses held include Property & Casualty, Accident & Health, Series 7 (General Securities Representative) and Series 66 (Investment Adviser Representative).

Through the acquisition of Lytle Investment Services, Corp., a Registered Investment Advisory firm, in 2018, Aebly & Associates expanded into retirement plan and investment advisory services. Over the years, Julius has successfully diversified Aebly & Associates into a wide range of products and services including Payroll, Employee Benefits, Private Exchange, Property & Casualty, Captive Services, Investment & Retirement Plan Services, FSA/HRA/HSA Account Administration, ACA, and Cobra & Benefits Administration.

Alpha Associates, Inc. is one of the oldest and largest insurance “clusters” in New York State with combined annual premium volume of $100+ Million. Julius is a past President of Alpha and presided over the merger of Alpha with an equally sized cluster from Central NY. He has also served on the Advisory Board for several different insurance carriers, has held various other board positions for local non-profits, presently serves on the local Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) Advisory Council, and is a former board member and past President of Springville Country Club.

Julius joined The Walsh Group in 1997, becoming a partner in 2003 and purchased the firm in 2008. The company name was changed in 2017 to its current name. Accomplishments include being hired as a consultant to one of the largest HMOs in New York State to train the sales staff on all aspects of self-funding and various experience rated products and testifying as an expert witness at PERB hearings. His diversified background in benefits consulting, finance, alternative funding mechanisms, third party administration (TPA), self-insurance, brokerage, and relationships with various service providers including captive management, actuarial, legal, TPA, accounting, regulatory and other vendors provide a unique problem solving perspective, ensuring a well-configured solution.
